Multiple Sclerosis

SEBI means SELF in Croatian…DOCTOR SELF

What does sugar consumption have to do with multiple sclerosis?

Eating too much sugar on a regular basis increases your chance of having yeast overgrowth, or candida overgrowth. In fact, the over-consumption of sugar is the leading cause of candida overgrowth — and candida overgrowth can lead to smaller symptoms like bloating and fatigue, but it can also lead to much more serious conditions, including cancer and multiple sclerosis!

Dr. Sebi’s Approach to Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Dr. Sebi, a controversial herbalist and natural healer, developed a holistic approach to addressing chronic diseases, including autoimmune conditions like multiple sclerosis (MS). His protocols focused on the principles of alkalinity, cellular cleansing, and natural nutrition to restore the body’s balance and promote healing.

While his methods were not recognized by mainstream medicine, many individuals sought his guidance, believing his approach offered a path to improved health.

Understanding Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks the protective covering (myelin) of nerves in the central nervous system. This leads to inflammation, nerve damage, and a range of symptoms, including:

  • Fatigue
  • Muscle weakness
  • Coordination and balance issues
  • Vision problems
  • Cognitive impairment

Conventional treatments often focus on managing symptoms and slowing disease progression, typically through immunosuppressive drugs. Dr. Sebi, however, approached the disease from a different perspective.

Dr. Sebi’s Philosophy

Dr. Sebi believed that all diseases, including MS, were caused by an accumulation of mucus and acidity in the body, which disrupt cellular function. He proposed that restoring the body to an alkaline state could help eliminate disease by removing toxins and mucus buildup.

His protocols emphasized:

  1. Detoxification: Cleansing the body of toxins and mucus to create an environment conducive to healing.
  2. Alkaline Nutrition: Consuming foods that maintain an alkaline pH in the body.
  3. Herbal Medicine: Using specific herbs to support nerve health, reduce inflammation, and improve overall vitality.

Dr. Sebi’s Protocol for MS

  1. Alkaline Diet
    • Focus on consuming only alkaline, plant-based foods.
    • Avoid acidic and mucus-forming foods, such as:
      • Dairy
      • Meat
      • Processed foods
      • Refined sugars
    • Approved foods include:
      • Leafy greens (kale, spinach, arugula)
      • Fruits (berries, apples, bananas)
      • Vegetables (cucumbers, zucchini, squash)
      • Grains (quinoa, amaranth, wild rice)
      • Nuts and seeds (walnuts, hemp seeds, chia seeds)
  2. Herbal Remedies Dr. Sebi recommended specific herbs to support nerve health, detoxify the body, and reduce inflammation:
    • Burdock Root: Known for its blood-purifying properties.
    • Sarsaparilla: High in iron, essential for supporting the nervous system.
    • Yellow Dock: Aids in detoxification and supports liver health.
    • Irish Sea Moss: Rich in minerals, including potassium chloride, which Dr. Sebi believed helps dissolve mucus and supports cellular repair.
    • Elderberry: Boosts the immune system and reduces inflammation.
  3. Hydration
    • Drink plenty of alkaline water (spring water or water infused with key minerals).
    • Hydration helps flush toxins and maintain cellular health.
  4. Fasting and Detox
    • Periodic fasting to allow the body to focus energy on healing rather than digestion.
    • Dr. Sebi often recommended herbal teas and liquid diets during detox periods.
  5. Lifestyle Adjustments
    • Minimize stress, as it can exacerbate MS symptoms.
    • Engage in light physical activity to maintain mobility and flexibility.
    • Practice mindfulness or meditation to support mental and emotional health.

Cautions and Considerations

While Dr. Sebi’s protocols resonate with many seeking alternative approaches, it’s essential to note:

  • His methods lack scientific validation through clinical trials.
  • MS is a complex disease, and patients should consult with a qualified healthcare provider before making significant changes to their treatment plan.
  • Combining natural remedies with conventional care may offer the best outcomes for some individuals.

Conclusion

Dr. Sebi’s holistic approach to MS emphasized the power of nutrition, detoxification, and herbal medicine to restore balance and promote healing. While controversial, his protocols have inspired many to explore the potential of natural remedies in managing chronic diseases. Whether as a primary or complementary approach, his philosophy underscores the importance of addressing the root causes of disease and nurturing the body’s inherent ability to heal.

  1. Candida And Multiple Sclerosis

The Connection Between MS and Candida

Two separate studies in 2010 in Spain and 2012 in Switzerland have linked Candida with the onset of MS. It has also connected other autoimmune diseases (graves, rheumatoid arthritis, colitis, lupus). The study found that cells of the fungus seem to trigger the immune system. Which produces more inflammation.

MS is caused by inflammation when the body’s immune cells attack the nervous system. This occurs in the brain and spinal cord nerve which breaks down the myelin that protects the nerves.

  2. Conventional Treatments for Multiple Sclerosis…

The standard medical treatments for MS are woeful, and that’s putting it nicely. Toxic pharmaceuticals including Aubagio, Avonex, Betaseron, Copaxone, Gilenya, Novantrone and Tysabri, along with steroids and other harmful and addictive drugs such as Valium, aspirin, codeine, and antidepressants are the most common poisons of choice. The average MS patient spends around $30,000 a year on medications, and none of them help to reverse the disease. They are only designed to help slow the progression and relieve the symptoms. However, they don’t always work and the side effects are not pretty.

  3. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an auto-immune disease, which means the immune system mistakenly turns on itself and starts attacking its own cells. In the case of MS, the myelin sheath or insulation material that surrounds the nerve fibers is what comes under attack. Over time this insulation is worn away and the critical communication process that occurs between the nerves, brain and other parts of the body begins to falter. This can cause partial, and eventually, full loss of function and motor skills. Common symptoms of multiple sclerosis include; muscle weakness, numbness, vision loss, pain, shaking and tremors, impairment of senses, vertigo, depression, sexual dysfunction, speech problems, bladder/bowel dysfunction, cognitive problems, fatigue, and dizziness.

If you or a loved one is suffering from MS, you’re going to be very glad you found this page. We have to be careful using the “cure” word (it can get us into trouble) but the truth is if you’re looking for a way to reverse and get rid of your multiple sclerosis quickly, safely, and with no horrible side effects, then this protocol is definitely it. It works extremely well and you can find the remedies you need in virtually any country in the world. They’re also not expensive, especially when you consider what MS medications cost.

So here are the top 12 MS remedies you need to look at using and incorporating in your life. We list them in no particular order as each one is just as important as the other…

  4. Natural MS Remedy/Treatment Option #1: Vitamin D…

Interestingly, research has found that people who live near the equator rarely suffer from MS, yet this disease is high in colder climates. People who spend lots of time out in the sun are also less likely to suffer from neurodegeneration diseases such as multiple sclerosis than people who work indoors or purposely shun the sun. The common link? Vitamin D of course!

In a study published in JAMA Neurology back in March of 2014, researchers discovered that among people with early-stage MS, those with higher blood levels of vitamin D had a slower progression of the disease during the first 5 years compared to those with low vitamin D levels. And what’s really exciting about this study is the vitamin D levels, even for the higher group, were still extremely low and inadequate. So imagine the results if they took vitamin D supplements and got their levels up to where they should be! (Dr Joseph Mercola recommends optimal vitamin D levels of around 160 nmol/L and even up to 200 nmol/L if you’re suffering from a disease. The vitamin D levels for the higher group in the study were only in the vicinity of 20-25 nmol/L, which is grossly inadequate!) 3

There have been over a dozen studies confirming the link between multiple sclerosis and vitamin D deficiencies. In fact, a recent study showed that vitamin D may even be able to repair the nerves and myelin sheath that this disease attacks and damages. Wow! You can read more about it here… Study: Vitamin D May Repair MS Nerve Damage.

How to Get Your Vitamin D…
So to recieve your daily dose of vitamin D, you need to get out in the sun and take high strength vitamin D3 supplements (the same as what the sun makes). World-renowned vitamin D expert, Dr Cedric Garland, recommends we take between 4,000 and 8,000 IU (international units) of vitamin D per day just to maintain normal levels. And if you’re chronically deficient or suffering from a disease such as MS then you can safely take more. Here’s what Dr Garland said after a recent study…

“We found that daily intakes of vitamin D by adults in the range of 4,000 to 8,000 IU [international units] are needed to maintain blood levels of vitamin D metabolites in the range needed to reduce by about half the risk of several diseases — breast cancer, colon cancer, multiple sclerosis and type 1 diabetes.”

He also went on to say…

“I was surprised to find that the intakes required to maintain vitamin D status for disease prevention were so high — much higher than the minimal intake of vitamin D of 400 IU/day that was needed to defeat rickets in the 20th century.”

For treating MS, look to take at least the maximum amount (8,000 IUs) a day. And don’t be afraid if you take more. Even 10,000 IU’s per day showed no toxicity at all in this study. So forget about the pathetic RDA of 600 IU’s of vitamin D set by the FDA. It’s a joke!

You should also take the time to read more about this incredibly powerful nutrient and the REAL recommended daily allowances here… 8,000 IU’s of vitamin D Daily Necessary to Raise Blood Levels.

  5. Natural MS Remedy/Treatment Option #2: Calcium and Magnesium…

Calcium and magnesium are crucial for the development, structure and stability of the insulation material that surrounds the nerves (myelin sheath). Calcium is needed for the transmission of nerve signals between the brain and body and magnesium is involved in muscle contraction, along with nerve conduction and muscle relaxation. This makes both of these “essential nutrients” for all MS sufferers. A study back in 1986 also showed that supplementing with calcium, magnesium and vitamin D produced a decreased relapse rate in all MS study participants. 2

Best Sources of Calcium and Magnesium…
To get your required daily amount of calcium and magnesium, forget about eating calcium and magnesium rich foods. They don’t exist anymore! Modern farming methods have now left our foods almost totally void of calcium and magnesium, so you MUST supplement. Taking coral calcium supplements is one of the best ways to receive calcium and magnesium at the correct ratio for internal assimilation, and many also come with added vitamin D (such as this one). They work a treat!

In addition to taking coral calcium, you need to look at using a transdermal oil spray for an extra supply of magnesium. Magnesium is the most important mineral for the human body hands down but is quite poorly assimilated internally. However, with a transdermal magnesium spray it gets absorbed 100% through the pores of the skin. This is a very powerful way to get the magnesium you need into the nerve fibers, and in particular, the myelin sheath. You will actually notice a big improvement in your MS symptoms in as little as 2-3 weeks of doing this! The only down side to a transdermal spray is it can be a bit uncomfortable on the skin (it gives a tingly feeling), but the inconvenience is definitely worth it. You can either buy a pre mixed oil spray or make up your own (which is much cheaper). Here’s how you can easily make it yourself…

    -What You’ll Need

1/2 cup of Magnesium Chloride Flakes (like these)

    1/2 cup of Distilled Water

    Glass Bowl

Spray Bottle to Store the Mixture

    -Directions

Boil the ½ cup of distilled water and tip into the glass bowl

Add the ½ cup of magnesium chloride flakes

Stir the mixture until the magnesium chloride flakes are dissolved.

Leave to cool completely then store in the spray bottle

    -How to Use

Spray the oil on arms, legs, and stomach once to twice daily using 10-15 sprays per application. You’ll find it will tingle on the skin, especially the first few times you use it. This is normal and means it’s working. Leave on for at least an hour before showering. Use a natural skin moisturizer afterward.

  6. How to Get Rid of MS Naturally… Remedy #3: Coconut Oil and Omega-3 Fatty Acids…

It’s no secret that coconut oil is incredibly effective for helping reverse the effects of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. But does it help with multiple sclerosis? Well, according to Dr Mary Newport it does! This lady helped her husband recover from a severe form of Alzheimer’s through the use of coconut oil and she’s drawn tremendous praise from neurodegenerative/ketone experts, including Dr Theodore VanItallie and Dr Richard Veech. 4

Coconut oil contains MCT’s (medium chain triglycerides) which the liver converts to substances called ketones. Ketones are basically high-energy fuel that nourish the brain. Instead of glucose being used for energy (which the brain has a hard time metabolizing) the ketones are used instead. This causes a dramatic “re-boot”, if you like, of brain cell metabolism and in turn, brain activity. And of course, whatever positively affects the brain will positively affect the body (including the nervous system). Along with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, these doctors believe that ketones are extremely beneficial for those suffering with multiple sclerosis, Huntington’s disease and Lou Gehrig’s disease because they’re all similar neurodegenerative disorders, which does make logical sense.

Another theory to the initial cause and worsening of MS is a bacterial or viral infection. Viruses cause inflammation in the body and a breakdown of the myelin sheath, so it’s very possible that a virus could trigger MS. Several viruses and bacteria including Epstein-Barr, Chlamydia, pneumonia, measles, herpes zoster, and herpes virus-6 are currently being investigated to determine if they’re involved in the development of MS. The other great thing about coconut oil is it’s a strong anti-viral and antibacterial agent. So if MS is actually triggered by a bacteria or virus in some people, coconut oil will help with this also! 5

How much Coconut Oil Should You Take?
Coconut oil is completely safe to take so there’s no need to worry about any adverse effects. Two tablespoons of organic, virgin coconut oil (make sure it’s organic) consumed every day is the amount recommended by Dr Newport, and this can be increased to four tablespoons daily after a period of several weeks. Be sure to break up the dosage if you can by taking 1-2 tablespoons in the morning and 1-2 tablespoons at night. Coconut oil can easily be consumed by mixing it in a smoothie, or your cereal (such as a bowl of oatmeal), or even eating it straight off the spoon! It doesn’t really matter how as long as you have it every day.

In addition to coconut oil, it’s also a good idea to take a high strength krill oil supplement. Krill oil contains rich amounts of omega-3 fatty acids and is an extremely potent anti-inflammatory (inflammation in the body exacerbates MS symptoms). And as an added extra, krill oil also contains the powerful astaxanthin antioxidant, which helps support brain and nervous system function!

For dosages, take the highest recommended daily amount listed on the bottle (at least 2,000 mg’s a day). If you’re interested, this brand of krill oil is one of the best.

  7. Natural MS Remedy/Treatment Option #4: Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)…

Apple cider vinegar is a potent antiviral and anti-bacterial food that helps control the infections thought to trigger MS symptoms. ACV is also rich in potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and manganese, which are all important for the health of the brain and nervous system. A potassium deficiency in particular can contribute to the poor muscle function and fatigue associated with multiple sclerosis. In fact, health and wellness legend and ACV expert, Paul Bragg, says in his terrific “Apple Cider Vinegar Miracle Health System” book that a potassium deficiency is a leading cause of multiple sclerosis, as well as other diseases including arthritis, celiac disease, high blood pressure, ulcerative colitis, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, Crohn’s disease, and hypothyroidism. When potassium is taken daily (apple cider vinegar being the best source) it relieves muscle fatigue and normalizes muscle function. This is of course what all MS sufferers want.

    Best ACV and Dosages…
It’s important to remember that apple cider vinegar is only beneficial when it’s unprocessed and still contains the “mother” apple (it will tell you on the bottle). This is absolutely crucial. Processed ACV’s of any kind will not work and don’t contain the essential nutrients your body needs. Organic liquid apple cider vinegar should be taken at the rate of one tablespoon mixed in a glass of warm filtered water and drank twice daily on an empty stomach. You can also add a teaspoon of local or manuka honey for extra healing benefit and taste. First thing in the morning and last thing at night are considered ideal times.

And if you find the liquid ACV difficult to take (it can be a bit of an acquired taste) then simply substitute this for the apple cider vinegar capsules. These are easier to take and work just as well. Here’s some of the top organic ACV liquids and capsules on the market… Best Apple Cider Vinegar Liquids and Capsules.

  8. Natural MS Remedy/Treatment Option #5: Chlorella…

    Chlorella for Treating MS

This stunning “Super Food” is a very powerful detoxifier, heavy metal remover and immune booster. Another known cause of MS is heavy metal toxicity. When heavy metals such as mercury, lead, aluminium, cadmium and arsenic accumulate in the body they cause an overproduction of harmful free radicals. These free radicals break down and damage the nerves protective layer (myelin sheath), resulting in diseases such as multiple sclerosis and lupus. 6 Mercury, aluminium and lead can also cross the blood/brain barrier, producing a wide variety of health problems and symptoms including fatigue, blurred vision, unsteadiness, hearing loss, tiredness, tingling skin, impaired smell or taste, insomnia, loss of appetite, depression, short-term memory loss, tremors, muscle weakness, and headaches. If you’re an MS sufferer, you’ll see that all of these symptoms of heavy metal toxicity are exactly the same as the symptoms of multiple sclerosis! Here’s one documented case where an MS patient was able to drastically improve his symptoms through a heavy metal detox… A Case of Multiple Sclerosis Improvement Following Removal of Heavy Metal Intoxication.

The best way to flush (chelate) these toxic heavy metals out of the body is with the green algae known as chlorella. Chlorella is considered the ultimate chelator – and it’s perfectly safe to take. It’s also an exceptional gut healer, especially when combined with probiotics (see next MS remedy). So start taking this amazing wonder food as soon as you can. The difference it will make to your health and well-being (and MS symptoms) really will astonish you!

Premium quality chlorella can be bought from most good health food stores or ordered online. For specific directions and daily amounts, follow the advice and dosages listed on the container.
